The First Student (Youth) Games of the People’s Republic of China: Badminton Competition (Campus Division) Concludes Successfully

On October 29th, the First Student (Youth) Games of the Peoples Republic of China: Badminton Tournament (Campus Division) concluded in GXUs Sports Complex. Both the university and high school divisions vied for a total of 10 gold medals in mens singles, womens singles, mens doubles, womens doubles, and mixed doubles. The Shanghai team clinched 3 gold medals, while the Beijing and Hong Kong teams each secured 2 gold medals. The Jiangsu and Hunan teams also earned 1 gold medal each. Emerging player Wang Zixuan from Guangxi claimed the championship in the high school womens singles, bringing Guangxi its first-ever badminton gold medal.

Following the competition, Hua Aijun, Vice Secretary-general of the Chinese University Sports Association, Jin Shunnan, Deputy Secretary of GXU Party Committee and Secretary of the GXU Discipline Inspection Commission, Ma Xianli, Deputy Secretary of GXU Party Committee, Liu Xiang and Yu Wenjin, Vice President of GXU and member of the Party Committee, leaders of School of Physical Education and team leaders, presented medals and certificates to the gold, silver, and bronze medalists, as well as the coaches.

From November 2nd to 11th, the badminton competition (open division) will resume at the university sports complex and basketball arena.
