Triumphant Victory for GXU Student at the 31st World University Games

Chengdu, August 2nd and 5th - Lan Xingyu, a student from the School of Physical Education at GXU, showcased exceptional prowess as he proudly represented the Chinese team and clinched gold medals in both the Men's Team and Men's Still Rings events at the 31st World University Games.

In the Mens Gymnastics Team Finals, Lan Xingyu and his five-member team displayed outstanding skills across disciplines including the Pommel Horse, Still Rings, Vault, Parallel Bars, Horizontal Bar, and Floor Exercise. Their collective effort yielded an impressive total score of 262.594 points, triumphing over the Japanese team and securing the prestigious Men's Team Championship. Lan Xingyus excellence shone brightly in the Mens Still Rings Finals, where his remarkable performance earned him a total score of 15.366 points, securing the gold medal.

Notably, Lan Xingyus achievements extend beyond this event. In the 10th Asian Gymnastics Championships held in June this year, he joined forces with his teammates to capture the Mens Team gold medal and also won the Mens Still Rings championship in the individual competition. Furthermore, his exceptional talent was on full display at the 50th FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in 2021, where he proudly earned the title of Mens Still Rings champion.
