On March 31st, the 2023 Council Meeting of the Confucius Institute at SuphanBuri, jointly established by Guangxi University and Suan Dusit University, Thailand, was held simultaneously online in Bangkok and Nanning. Dr. Pitauk Chancharoen, Vice President of Suan Dusit University, and Dr. Fan Zhuojun, Vice President of Guangxi University, attended the meeting.

Dr. Pitauk briefly introduced the overall development and achievements of the Confucius Institute in 2022, expressed his sincere gratitude for the support of the Confucius Institute Headquarters and Guangxi University, and stated that they will continue to work hard for the vigorous development of the Confucius Institute.

Dr. Fan mentioned that Guangxi University and Suan Dusit University have worked together in solidarity, making steady progress in the development of the Confucius Institute. He has also expressed his appreciation for the achievements of the SuphanBuri Confucius Institute in 2022 and thanked all the staff from both China and Thailand for their hard work and selfless dedication.

During the meeting, the council members discussed and approved the operation projects and budget for the SuphanBuri Confucius Institute in 2023.

The year 2023 marks the 17^th year of the operation of the SuphanBuri Confucius Institute. The Institute focuses on “Chinese language + vocational skills” education, actively explores more diversified training models for the local Chinese teachers , and continues to make full use of the friendly cooperation foundation between the two universities and the characteristics of the development of international Chinese education in the new era. The Institute strives to promote connotative, high-quality, and sustainable development, actively facilitating cultural exchange and education between China and Thailand.

Nearly 20 members, including the Chinese and foreign directors of the Confucius Institute and personnel from relevant departments of both universities, attended the meeting.
