Professor Huang Huikang from Wuhan University was invited to our university's forum

TheJun WuForumandthe7th lectureof theJurist Forumheld byGuangxi University were inaugurated with a special presentation byProfessorHuang Huikang,Member of the International Law Commission of the United Nations, Distinguished Professor of the Institute of International Law, Wuhan University, former Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia.Professor Huang was invited to deliver a lecture on "Strengthening the Logic of The Times in Foreign Rule of Law Construction" for teachers and students.

Prior to the lecture, President Han Linhai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee at Guangxi University, held an in-depth discussion with Professor Huang Huikang on enhancing law discipline construction and fostering talents in foreign-related legal matters. Thesymposiumwaschairedby Yu Wenjin, Vice President of the University and member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee.

Prof.Huang Huikang has integrated the insights gained from the 10th collective study of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, providing a profound interpretation and detailed explanation of the PresidentXi's important speech. He emphasized that, under the new circumstances, the establishment of a foreign-related rule of law system and capacity should be fundamentally guided by the spirit of the PresidentXi's important speech. It is crucial to deeply comprehend the significance of strengthening foreign-related rule of law construction.

Through comprehensive data and case analysis,Prof.Huanghas expounded on therationalebehindthe efforts to enhance the construction of foreign-related rule of law. This endeavor is deemed astop priority in light of national rejuvenation and profound changes in the global landscape, as it serves to facilitate high-level openness and address external risks and challenges. It is imperative that we uphold the harmonization of domestic rule of law with foreign-related rule of law, as only through this approach can we cultivate a favorable environment conducive to the steady and sustainable advancement of China's modernization.

On the topic of“Specific strategies and measures for universities in Guangxi to cultivate foreign-related legal talents with a focus on Guangxi characteristics”, Prof.Huang engaged with the attending teachers and students, patiently addressing their inquiries. His comprehensive, macro-level analysis and profound yet accessible lectures proved beneficial to all.

At the end of the lecture,Yu Wenjin emphasized that Prof. Huang Huikang's report exhibits a strong political stance, a solid theoretical foundation, heightened problem awareness, and practical recommendations. This offers a clearer direction for the future training of international legal talents at Guangxi University.

A total of 300 teachers and students from the School of Literature,theSchool of Journalism and Communication,theSchool of Public Administration, theSchool of Business Administration, theSchool of Law, theSchool of Marxism and theSchool of Economics attended thelecture.
