Guangxi University is a school under the construction of the national "211 Project," a world-class institution for disciplinary construction, and a university jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the local government. Over the past 90 years since its establishment, the university has developed into a comprehensive institution with the longest history of education, the largest scale, the most diverse disciplines, and the strongest overall strength in Guangxi.

The university's disciplines cover 11 categories including philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, management, and art. It boasts 2 national key disciplines, 1 national key (nurturing) discipline, 17 doctoral programs in first-level disciplines, and 40 master's programs in first-level disciplines. Disciplines such as engineering, materials science, agricultural science, botany and zoology, and chemistry have successively entered the top 1% globally in ESI disciplines. The discipline groups of civil engineering and advanced materials have been selected for the construction of world-class disciplines, while applied economics and modern services have been selected for the construction of first-class disciplines jointly established by the ministry and the local government.

In August 2007, approved by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the National Postdoctoral Management Committee, our university established center for post-doctoral studies. Currently, our university has established 11 centers for post-doctoral studies in the fields of biology, civil engineering, animal husbandry, electrical engineering, chemical engineering and technology, light industry technology and engineering, agronomy, plant protection, ecology, applied economics, and physics.

Our university's centers for post-doctoral studies actively collaborate with various enterprise postdoctoral research workstations and jointly recruit enterprise postdoctoral researchers. We have successively collaborated with many enterprise units such as the Guangxi Academy of Sciences, Guangxi Forestry Research Institute, Guangxi Guitang (Group) Co., Ltd., Liangmianzhen Company, Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Group Co., Ltd., Guangxi New Development Transportation Group Co., Ltd., and Guangxi Communications Investment Group Co., Ltd. to recruit postdoctoral researchers.

Since the establishment of the center for post-doctoral studies in 2007, our university has recruited more than 250 postdoctoral researchers, with over 100 researchers completing their tenure, and currently more than 100 researchers are still active, including several foreign postdoctoral researchers. Postdoctoral researchers play an important role in promoting academic exchanges, talent mobility, and the cultivation of high-level talents at our university.
