Professor Yan Wei Ping of GXU Published A Paper in the Journal Mathematische Annalen.

On July 19th, Professor Yan Weiping from the School of Mathematics and Information Science Guangxi University, in collaboration with his doctoral students Liu Jun and Li Weijia, published an academic paper titled Dynamics of the Closed Hypersurfaces in Central Force Fields in the international authoritative mathematics journal 'Mathematische Annalen' (a German Mathematical Annal) online. This achievement marks a significant breakthrough for GXU's scholars in publishing papers in this journal. Guangxi University is the sole completing unit for this paper."

In this paper, Professor Yan Weiping and his collaborators introduced a stability theory for the motion of closed hypersurfaces in the general case. Based on this theory, Prof. Yan certificates that a small perturbation of the initial shape of closed hypersurfaces (e.g., elastic membrane) cannot change the final shape of such hypersurface through introducing a quasi-linear degenerate dissipative hyperbolic system including the mean curvature operator and building appropriate iteration techniques. Prior to this paper, Prof. Yan Weiping and his collaborators also developed a stabilization theory for the quasi-linear Klein-Gordon-wave system, which was published in the top journal SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization in the field of mathematical control theory, marking the first publication of GXU's scholars in that journal. This research was subsidized by the National Natural Science Foundation and the Guangxi Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. Both of the two journals mentioned above are widely recognized as top-tier journals in the field of mathematics with strong academic reputation, which are included in excellent T1 journal list of the Chinese Mathematical Society.

Mathematische Annalen is a comprehensive mathematical journal founded in Germany in 1869. Renowned for its stringent selection process, it publishes only about 150 high-quality mathematical papers each year. Therefore, it is widely recognized as an international authoritative journal in the field of mathematics and holds a significant academic influence. Well-known mathematicians such as Klein and Hilbert had served as its editors-in-chief, and physicist Einstein also acted as an editorial board member and published two important papers in the journal.

Yan Weiping is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Mathematics and Information Sciences of GUX whose research fields include differential equations and dynamical systems. He has published over 40 papers in international professional authoritative journals such as Math.Ann., Ann.Henri Poincaré, Calc. Var. Partial Differential Equations, SIAM J. Control Optim and so on. Besides, Prof. Yan also presided over many projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation.
