“Excited, honored, proud and glorious” - Students of Guangxi University warmly welcome General Secretary Xi Jinping's visit to Vietnam

From December 12th to 13th, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and President of the People's Republic of China (PRC), paid a state visit to Vietnam. 27 Vietnamese major undergraduate students of Guangxi University(GXU) studying in Vietnam were honored to be there to welcome General Secretary Xi Jinping.

 

Interviewed by Xinhua News Agency while waiting for plane, student Huang Zi Yi expressed hers and her classmates' excitement, saying, "It's a lucky thing for us students to meet General Secretary Xi during our study in Vietnam, and we would like to express our welcome to General Secretary Xi Jinping in various ways."

Zhou Xuefang said, "It is a great honor to be there to witness the historical moment, I sincerely wish China and Vietnam prosperity, people's happiness, and the friendship between the two countries will last forever. We international students in Vietnam are willing to be a bridge of Sino-Vietnamese friendship and make active efforts and contributions to build a Sino-Vietnamese community with a shared future."

Student He Yifei summed up the feelings in four words: excited, honoured, proud and proud.

After the event, student Huang Ruiying said excitedly, "The experience of these few days is worth recalling for the rest of my life, I will continue to work hard to learn Vietnamese and strive to contribute to the friendship between the two countries in the future ."


 

In recent years, GXU has carried out in-depth international co-operation with Vietnamese universities, and the Vietnamese major of the School of Foreign Languages has implemented the "3.5+0.5" mode, and signed a co-operation agreement with Vietnam National University(VNU) University of Social Sciences and Humanities, where students go to Vietnam to study in the 5th semester. In September this year, 27 undergraduates majoring in Vietnamese went to study in Vietnam according to the teaching plan. The School of Foreign Languages maintains regular contact and communication with them, and Huang Xiaolong, a doctoral student who used to teach in the School of Foreign Languages of GXU and is now studying in VNU serves as their external tutor, urging them to study hard during their stay in Vietnam, and to participate in the practice of promoting Chinese culture and telling the Chinese story with practical actions, so as to contribute to the friendly exchanges and long lasting friendship between China and Vietnam.
