Guangxi University’s Original Dancing Composition shortlisted for National Youth Dance Education and Teaching Exhibition & Performance of the 13th “Taoli Dancing Competition”

Recently, the original dancing composition “Qin·Su” created by Associate Professor Nong Chunque and Professor Fu Yiling of School of the Arts of Guangxi University and directed by Fu Yiling, Nong Chunque and Fu Yan, has been shortlisted for National Youth Dance Education and Teaching Exhibition & Performance of the 13th “Taoli Dancing Competition”. It is the only entrant among universities’ works in Guangxi.

The dancing composition takes the the Zhuang nationality’s Tianqin (a kind of Chinese ancient musical instrument) as its creative element, focuses on the spiritual world of empty-nest elderly in contemporary society under the environment of "happy China" and depicts the process of blind Tianqin inheritors reigniting their lives and souls by passing on their skills to contemporary young people. This dancing composition expresses the sense of happiness and achievement of "doing something in the old age", and praises the great passing down of excellent traditional Chinese culture from generation to generation.

Taoli Dancing Competition is a professional dance competition sponsored by Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, which is held every three years. It is the highest level of youth dance competition in China and has the reputation of Oscar of Chinese dance. The exhibition will be held in Beijing in August 2023.
