Delegation from the Thai Senate Attended a Symposium in Guangxi University

To enhance the exchange of poverty alleviation experiences and economic cooperation between China and Thailand, a delegation led by Sungsidh Piriyarangsan, Chairman of Thai Senate Standing Committee on Poverty and Inequality Reduction, visited Guangxi University (GXU) for research and attend a symposium on May 23.

The symposium was presided over by Fan Zuojun, Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Guangxi University. Chen Bin, Director of the Secretariat of the China Association for NGO Cooperation, Ruan Hang, Director of the News and Culture Department of the Foreign Affairs Office of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and Benjamas Tanvetyanont, Consul General of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Nanning, also participated in the symposium.

Fan Zuojun expressed that the political advantages of the leadership of the Communist Party of China and the socialism with Chinese characteristics are important foundations for achieving the goals and tasks of poverty alleviation in the new era. In the battle against poverty and the promotion of rural revitalization, Guangxi University has taken multiple measures and fully utilized its advantages in organization, talent, disciplines, and culture. Meanwhile, it has consistently adhered to the fundamental task of moral education and truly implemented the cultivation of virtue and character. The university strives to eradicate the breeding ground of poverty by nurturing cultured individuals and fostering moral development.

Sungsidh introduced the current measures and status of poverty alleviation in Thailand. He expressed his desire to further understand and learn from Guangxi University's practical experiences and specific approaches in rural revitalization. The relevant officials from the Organization Department of the Party Committee and the Research Institute for Agricultural and Animal Husbandry Development of our university introduced the specific implementation measures of rural revitalization at Guangxi University and the achievements in transforming assistance outcomes.

The symposium was attended by relevant personnel from the China Association for NGO Cooperation, the Foreign Affairs Office of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Nanning, as well as officials and experts from the Organization Department of the Party Committee, the International Cooperation and Exchange Department, the International College, the School of Economics/China-ASEAN Institute of Financial Cooperation, the Research Institute for Agricultural and Animal Husbandry Development, and the Guangxi Institute of Innovation and Development of the university.
