In recent days, the results of the 2024 UN Chinese Language Day and the Fourth CMG Chinese Language Video Festival were announced. GXU’s Broadcasting and Television Center produced a film titled ‘Youth in Common: ASEAN Youth in China,’which stood out among 1,009 entries from 47 countries and territories and received a nomination award. GXU was honored with the Best Organization Award, along with Beijing Normal University’s ‘Watch China: Foreign Youth Image Program,’ the School of Social Sciences at Tsinghua University, the School of Journalism and Communication at Jinan University, and Nanchang University. The film focuses on the study and life of ASEAN youth at GXU, showcasing the youthful vigor of Chinese and ASEAN youth in classroom learning, practical activities, and cultural exchanges.

The film portrays the academic and communal experiences of ASEAN youth within GXU, spotlighting their vivacity in scholarly pursuits, hands-on engagements, and cross-cultural exchanges. It articulates a compelling vision of collaborative endeavors between Chinese and ASEAN youth to foster cultural understanding and mutual inspiration. It motivates young students to actively participate in international cultural exchanges, contributing their youthful energy to building a community with a shared future for humanity and realizing the Chinese dream of national rejuvenation.

The 2024 UN Chinese Language Day and the Fourth CMG Chinese Language Video Festival, jointly hosted by CCTV and the United Nations Office at Geneva, the Permanent Mission of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva, and other international organizations in Switzerland, was held at the Palais des Nations in Geneva. This edition of the festival, themed ‘Youth Together: for a Better World,’ invited submissions of video works from around the world, showcasing the youthful vitality of the younger generation comprehensively. It aimed to facilitate exchanges of ideas between Chinese and foreign youth to promote mutual understanding and contribute to joint efforts for sustainable development.
