GXU Attends YOUTH EXCHANGE: HARMONY FOR SHARED PROSPERITY in Beijing

On May 7th, an activity on the theme of YOUTH EXCHANGE: HARMONY FOR SHARED PROSPERITY was held in Beijing, led by Contemporary World under the International Department of Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Minister Liu Jianchao delivered a speech at the event, with nearly 200 representatives from the central and state organs, Chinese high institutions, foreign envoys and students in China participating in the event. Prof. Dr. Xiao Jianzhuang, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guangxi University Committee and Vice President of the University, was invited to attend the event.

Bustling with excitement, Chinese and foreign guests visited the exhibition of outstanding written works, and representatives of Chinese and foreign youth performed musical instruments, songs, dances, poetry recitations, martial arts and other talents. Tian Yunyan, Associate Professor of the School of Arts of GXU, and Ryan Alexander Berg, an American student who learns Chinese in the International School of GXU, attended the event as representatives and performed the song My Motherland and Me, which was warmly received by the audience.

Liu Jianchao and the relevant comrades also presented certificates to award-winning representatives in the written exhibition on site. GXU won the Excellent Organisation Award, with Tsinghua University, Peking University and other colleges and universities to become the 12 excellent organizers. On behalf of GXU, Vice President Xiao Jianzhuang accepted the certificate issued by Liu Jianchao.

YOUTH EXCHANGE: HARMONY FOR SHARED PROSPERITY was jointly sponsored by the International Department of Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Contemporary World and Guangxi University, and was held from April to December in 2023, with a total of 5,018 entries including essays, paintings, calligraphy and seal cutting, photos and stories behind the works from young people of 65 countries. Three first prizes, six second prizes and 15 third prizes were awarded for the works. International students from GXU participated enthusiastically in this activity and their works won one first prize, three second prizes and seven third prizes respectively, which were exhibited at the venue of the event and were highly praised.
