GXU won three gold medals and one silver medal in the 18th Chinese College Students Taekwondo Championship (Finals)


From July 20 to 25, the 18th Chinese College Students Taekwondo Championship (Finals) hosted by the Federation of University Sports of China was held in Xianning, Hubei Province.

Yu Xiaotang, a graduate student from School of Electrical Engineering of GXU, won the champion of Women's Individual five-chapter of Taichi Forms in Group A and the champion of women's Individual Poomsae of Gaoli project in Group A.

Wang Ruining, a graduate student from the School of Physical Education, won the champion of Women's Individual Poomsae of Diamond project in Group A and the runner-up of the eight-chapter women's Individual Forms of Taichi project in Group A.

It has been reported that a total of 152 universities and 792 athletes participated in the finals. The Taekwondo team from GXU successfully advanced to the national competition after competing in both the northern and southern regions. Under the leadership of Liu Xiaohong and coach Hu Yuanyuan, the team achieved outstanding results, securing three gold medals and one silver medal after four competitions.
