GXU achieved good results in the final of the 9th China Undergraduate Life Science Contest in the Scientific Inquiry Category

From July 21 to 23, the final of the 9th China Undergraduate Life Science Contest in the Scientific Inquiry Category took place in Ningbo, Zhejiang. Guangxi University achieved outstanding results, winning a total of 2 first prizes, 3 second prizes, and 2 third prizes. The School of Life Science and Technology contributed significantly to this success by securing 2 first prizes, 2 second prizes, and 2 third prizes. The Medical School also made a notable contribution by winning 1 second prize.

 

Since the launch of the China Undergraduate Life Science Contest in the Scientific Inquiry Category last year, the competition has attracted 69,938 students and 23,501 instructors from 16,732 teams in 629 colleges and universities across the country to participate, the first time that Taiwan Province participated. The competition is held annually and is divided into two categories: scientific inquiry and innovative entrepreneurship.

After online review and provincial finals, a total of 567 projects were selected to participate in the national finals. The winning projects in the competition exhibit a high level of excellence, with a significant proportion achieving national recognition. Specifically, only 2.5% of all effective teams were awarded the prestigious national first prize, while 4% and 12% received second and third prizes respectively. It has been announced that the upcoming competition final will take place in Yantai, Shandong in August 2025.

The competition aims to foster the innovative consciousness, practical ability, and team spirit of college students. It also seeks to broaden their scientific horizons, enhance their sense of social responsibility, promote the teaching reform of life sciences, improve the quality of personnel training, and garner high appreciation and active participation from teachers and students in biology, medicine, agriculture, food, and other related majors at universities nationwide.
