From July 13 to 17, Mr. Liu Xiang, a member of the standing committee of Guangxi University’s Party committee and vice president, led a delegation to visit the Macquarie University, the University of New South Wales, the Queensland University of Technology, and the University of Queensland in Australia. During these visits, further advancing the “High-Level Student Exchange Program between Chinese and Foreign Universities” (hereinafter referred to as the “High-Level Program”) have been discussed. Discussions covered areas such as student exchange programmes, joint master’s and doctoral training, the establishment of joint key laboratories, scientific research cooperation, and faculty exchanges.

Lee-Ann Norris, Vice President of the Macquarie University, and Mr. Gao Wei, Associate Dean for China International Affairs at the University of New South Wales’ Faculty of Engineering, exchanged views with the delegation on the enrollment methods for the High-Level Program and reached a consensus.

They also delved into the details of the program’s training plans and processes. Ian O’Hara, Deputy Director of the Faculty of Engineering at Queensland University of Technology, and Gracie Jin, Greater China Regional Director of the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology at the University of Queensland, along with other relevant officials, agreed with the delegation. They expressed their willingness to use student exchanges and joint training as starting points to gradually advance comprehensive and in-depth inter-university cooperation.
