GXU Hosts International Conference on Geometric Analysis of Ricci Curvature

From January 8 to 13, the International Conference on Geometric Analysis of Ricci Curvature, jointly organized by GXU and the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was held at GXU.

The opening ceremony was attended by academicians, Professor Tian Gang from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chair Professor at Peking University; as well as Professor Zhang Weiping, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) for the advancement of science in developing countries, and professor at Nankai University; Mr. Liang Enwei, vice president and member of GXU’s Party Committee, also attended the ceremony and delivered a speech."

Mr. Tian Gang pointed out that the Guangxi Mathematical Research Center is an emerging mathematical hub in the southwestern part of China, established and developed from scratch by relevant teams at GXU. It serves as a research platform supporting the development of fundamental mathematical research in the southwestern region of China and plays a crucial role in the construction of the mathematical discipline at GXU.

Mr. Zhang Weiping shared his ongoing commitment to closely following the progress of GXU’s mathematical discipline since the establishment of the Guangxi Mathematical Research Center. He hoped that the attending experts and scholars would actively support the mathematical research endeavors in Guangxi, contributing to the sustained growth of foundational mathematics at GXU.

Mr. Liang Enwei welcomed the arrival of the academicians and experts, introducing the development history of GXU’s mathematical discipline and the establishment and current status of the Guangxi Mathematical Research Center. He expressed hope that the experts and scholars present would continue to lend their support to the ongoing growth of the mathematical discipline at Guangxi University, and he offered his sincere wishes for the conference's resounding success.

Over 50 eminent experts and scholars from prestigious institutions worldwide, including the University of Connecticut, Toul University, Peking University, Nankai University, Zhejiang University, and Guangxi University, actively engaged in the conference. The participants joined both on-site and online sessions, delivering a total of 20 academic presentations that delved into the latest research outcomes and forefront issues in the realm of Ricci curvature geometry analysis.
