2023 Nonlinear Vibration Forum held in Guangxi University

Recently, the 2023 Nonlinear Vibration Forum, co-hosted by Guangxi University and the Nonlinear Vibration Professional Committee of Chinese Society for Vibration Engineering, and co-organized by School of Civil Engineering and Architecture, and the Research Center of Engineering Mechanics of Guangxi University, and the State Key Laboratory for Special Metal Materials and the Whole Life Safety of Combined Structure co-constructed by the Ministry and the Province, was held in the Yulin Hall of the Junwu Building . Prof. Xiao Jianzhuang, Vice President of GXU and the Standing Committee of the CPC Guangxi University Committee; Prof. Zhang Wei, Chairman of the forum, and Director of the Nonlinear Vibration Professional Committee of Chinese Society for Vibration Engineering; and Prof. Zeng Yonglin, Director of the Society Department of Guangxi Association of Science and Technology, attended the opening ceremony.

Xiao Jianzhuang expressed his welcome and gratitude to the participating experts and scholars. He pointed out that this forum focused on the basic research in the field of nonlinear vibration, aiming to explore the major scientific and technical problems that need to be broken through in this field, and provide a platform for exchanges between experts and scholars. He stressed that Guangxi University attaches great importance to the construction and development of mechanics. In recent years, the school has set up the Research Center of Engineering Mechanics and the Department of Engineering Mechanics. We have introduced 8 mechanics teachers, won two General Program and two Youth Program of the National Natural Science Foundation respectively, and won the first prize of the 14th National Zhou Peiyuan College Students Mechanics Competition. Xiao hoped that all experts and scholars would continue to support Guangxi University and offer more guidance to the construction of engineering mechanics in GXU.

At this forum, eight experts made the keynote speeches, including Hu Haiyan, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Academician of the World Academy of Sciences, foreign Academician of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Professor of Beijing Institute of Technology, Meng Guang, winner of China Youth Science and Technology Award and Professor of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Deng Zichen, Professor of Northwestern Polytechnical University, and Director of the State Key Laboratory for "Complex System Dynamics and Control" of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. They made in-depth academic exchanges and discussions with the young scholars.

Hu Haiyan gave a presentation entitled "Data-Driven Nonlinear Flutter Prediction", which explained the key scientific problems and difficulties in flutter prediction and control of transonic aircraft. He also introduced how to embed mechanical knowledge into data-driven technology to build a low-order nonlinear aerodynamic model with obvious physical significance and accurately predict the limit cycle flutter of aircraft.

Nonlinear vibration is the core research field of the discipline of dynamics and control. In recent years, it has developed rapidly and new achievements have been emerging, but there are still many problems wait to be solved. This forum provides a high-quality platform for experts and scholars to deeply discuss the key challenges, the latest progress, development trends and cutting-edge applications in the field of nonlinear vibration and strengthens the exchanges between experts and scholars.

More than 200 experts and scholars from over 80 universities or research institutes in nonlinear vibration participated in the forum.
