GXU's Cheerleading Team Secures Second Place in the Female Elite Skill Division at the 2024 FISU World University Cheerleading Championship

The 2024 FISU World University Cheerleading Championship took place in Split, Croatia, from August 1st to 4th, co-organized by the International University Sports Federation (FISU) and the National University Sports Federations (NUSF), with technical support from the International Cheer Union (ICU). Competing against 31 teams from countries and regions such as China, the United States, Canada, Japan, and Australia, Guangxi University's cheerleading team showed great resilience and secured second place in the Female Elite Skill Division. This achievement continues GXU's proud tradition of winning medals in international competitions.

The FISU World University Cheerleading Championship is recognized as the premier international competition for university cheerleading, held every two years. The inaugural event took place on October 1, 2018, in Łódź, Poland, where our team claimed victory in the Mixed Elite Skil Division. This second edition of the competition, delayed for six years due to the pandemic, was particularly challenging. The Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges, MOE, PRC, alongside the Federation of University Sports of China, placed significant emphasis on this event, coordinating a joint team comprising students from institutions like Beijing Normal University, Beijing Sport University, Guangxi University, Xihua University, and Guangzhou Sport University to compete across multiple divisions. Guangxi University fielded a team of 12 athletes in the Female Elite Skill Division, where they earned the runner-up title.
