The Mid-Autumn Festival is the corner round, and the love of Mid-Autumn Festival is sound. On the occasion of the approaching Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day of China, 2023 “Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day” Tea party for International Teachers and Students was held in Junwu Hall on September 28th. Prof. Dr. Xiao Jianzhuang, Standing Member of the GXU Party Committee and Vice President of Guangxi University, attended the event.

Xiao Jianzhuang expressed his greetings and sincere blessings to international teachers and students for the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day of China and introduced the origin of the lunar calendar, the custom of the Mid-Autumn Festival and the Chinese cultural connotation of “eating moon cakes, appreciating the moon and celebrating reunion”. He also expressed heartfelt thanks to the foreign teachers for their hard work. He hoped that international students can achieve academic success, find joy in learning Chinese language and experience the charm of Chinese culture,and encouraged them to become outstanding cultural ambassadors, make the most of the time here in GXU, and forge ahead with determination.

Representatives of foreign teachers and international students from Canada, Britain, and countries along the “Belt and Road Initiative”, including Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnamese, Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Pakistan, expressed their thanks to GXU for care and support, which made them feel the warmth of home in China. They also learned more about the rich connotation of Chinese traditional festivals, which made them deeply experience the broad and profound Chinese excellent traditional culture.

Leaders of CPC Party Committee United Front Work Department, Director of Department of International Cooperation and Exchange, and representatives of International College also joined the Tea party.
