On September 4^th, Guangxi University organized the opening ceremony of the 2023 Thai principals' visit to China. GXU Vice President Prof. Dr. Xiao Jianzhuang attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. There were all together 20 university, secondary school and elementary school principals and directors from Thailand in this visit.

Xiao said that Guangxi University always attaches great importance to the cooperation and exchange with Thai educational institutions , and has carried out projects which made positive contributions to the cultural exchanges between China and Thailand. Looking to the future, Guangxi University will deeply implement the "International Exchange and Cooperation Expansion Project", take "scientific research cooperation" and "education and humanities exchanges" as the double-wheel drive, strengthen international collaborative innovation, strengthen ties with universities in ASEAN countries, implement the Chinese and foreign high-level universities' cooperation and exchanges projects. Relying on platforms and institutions such as China-ASEAN Research Institute,  China-ASEAN Information Harbor Institute of Big Data Research, and China-ASEAN I Institute of Financial Cooperation , Guangxi University will continue to deepen cooperation in think tanks, international students, and research topics, and strive to build up a talent cultivation base, international high-end think tank, and regional innovation center with distinctive features to serve the opening-up and cooperation towards ASEAN, provide strong intellectual and talent support for the regional cooperation and development, and make greater contributions to the construction of China-ASEAN Community of Shared Destiny. Guangxi University hoped that the members of the principals' delegation would see more during the study tour in Guangxi, so as to deepen the understanding of the culture of Guangxi and feel the charm of Chinese culture.

Theerayut Jandittawong, Deputy governor of Suphanburi province, said that the tour allowed the members to learn Chinese and experience Chinese culture in a real environment. They were able to learn Chinese and experience Chinese culture in a real-life environment, which reinforced their belief in the saying "Chinese and Thai are one family", both in terms of Chinese food culture and people's way of life.

Pornchanit Kaew-Nate, Vice President of Suan Dusit University, said that Guangxi University and Suan Dusit University have established a long and stable educational partnership, and the two universities have cooperated to jointly offer China-ASEAN professional courses, and have supported and encouraged more and more Thai students to study in China. At present, a total of 156 students from Suan Dusit University are studying in Guangxi University, and the Thai students have gained a lot from studying in Guangxi, and have formed a deep friendship with their Chinese classmates.

During the 8-day study tour in China, Guangxi University provides the delegation with Chinese traditional culture experience courses and basic Chinese language learning courses, educational observation visit to the Attached Middle School of GXU, and tour to the Sanjiang ethnic area.

Representatives of International Cooperation and Exchange Office and International College attended the ceremony.
