School of Civil Engineering and Architecture Achieves Good Grades at the 14th National Zhou Peiyuan Mechanics Competition for College Students Team

Recently, the 14th National Zhou Peiyuan University Student Mechanics Competition held the "Fundamental Mechanics Experiment" team competition and the "Theoretical Design and Operation" team competition successively at Harbin Institute of Technology and Southwest Jiaotong University. In the "Theoretical Design and Operation" team competition, Guangxi University (GXU) competed alongside 46 representative teams from 47 universities, including Tsinghua University, Tongji University, and others. After intense competition, GXU’s representative team achieved the third-place overall score and was awarded the national first prize.

GXU team was guided by teachers Cong Yunyue and Su Xiaoyang from the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture. The participating students included Hu Tong, Liu Guoliang, Gu Zhi’an from the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture, as well as Li Sujie and Su Zilong from the School of Mechanical Engineering, comprising a total of 5 students. Furthermore, GXU’s representative team participated for the first time in the "Fundamental Mechanics Experiment" sub-event, achieving a final ranking of 17th place and earning a winning prize.

The National Zhou Peiyuan Mechanics Competition for College Students is a nationwide, large-scale event jointly organized by the Ministry of Education, the Higher Education Mechanical Basic Courses Teaching Steering Committee, the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, and the Zhou Peiyuan Foundation. It is held once every two years and is the most prestigious and valuable university-level mechanics competition in China. Additionally, it is recognized by the Ministry of Education as one of the nine major national academic competitions. This competition aims to enhance the theoretical, practical, and innovative abilities of college students, as well as develop their hands-on skills. It also seeks to foster a spirit of teamwork among college students, encourage their active participation in extracurricular scientific and technological activities, and promote the cultivation of talent in the field of mechanics.
